Meter Parameters

In the first configuration step, you enter basic information about your electricity meter. This helps you keep track, especially if you manage multiple devices.

Accessing Meter Parameters

  1. Open the stromleser app
  2. Select your stromleser.one
  3. Tap on Settings ⚙️
  4. Select Meter Parameters

What Parameters Are There?

1. Device Name

What is it? A freely chosen name for your stromleser.one.

Examples:

  • "Main Meter Apartment"
  • "Meter Ground Floor"
  • "Electricity Meter PV System"

Why is it important? If you have multiple devices, the name helps you distinguish them.

Tip

Choose a meaningful name that immediately tells you which meter it is.

2. Meter Number

What is it? The unique number of your electricity meter. You'll find it printed directly on your meter.

Where do I find the meter number?

  • Usually on the display or nameplate
  • Often begins with a country code (e.g., "1 EMH" for German meters)
  • Usually consists of a long number sequence

Why is it important?

  • Unique assignment with multiple meters
  • Important for support inquiries
  • Useful for your own records
Optional

The meter number is optional, but we recommend entering it.

3. Meter Manufacturer and Model

What is it? The manufacturer and exact model of your electricity meter.

Examples:

  • EMH eHZ-K
  • Landis+Gyr E350
  • Holley DTZ541
  • Itron OpenWay 3.HZ

Where do I find this information? Printed directly on your meter, usually on the nameplate.

Why is it important?

  • Helps with troubleshooting
  • Enables better support
  • Documentation for your own purposes

4. Meter Type

Here you specify what type of meter you have:

Simple Consumption Meter

  • Only measures electricity consumption
  • Standard for most households without PV

Bidirectional Meter (PV System)

  • Measures both consumption and feed-in
  • Necessary for photovoltaic systems
  • Shows feed-in with negative values

Dual-Tariff Meter (HT/NT)

  • Distinguishes between high tariff (HT) and low tariff (NT)
  • Typical for day/night tariffs
  • Usually for heat pumps or night storage heaters
Multiple Selection Possible

If you have both a PV system and HT/NT tariffs, you can select both!

5. Installation Date

What is it? The date you installed your stromleser.one.

Why is it important?

  • For warranty management
  • To track usage duration
  • Helps with analyzing long-term trends
