Gasleser Troubleshooting

For general issues, see Common Problems.

Gasleser Not Counting After Installation

If your Gasleser is not counting after installation, the problem is usually related to the physical installation. Here are the most common causes and solutions:

1. Verify Installation

Make sure the Gasleser is correctly installed:

  • The reading head must be positioned exactly above the magnetic sensor of the gas meter
  • The alignment must be precise so that the rotation of the meter dial is detected
  • Check that the device is firmly and securely attached to the meter

2. Weak Magnet on the Meter

Some gas meters have a weaker magnet that is harder for the Gasleser to detect:

  • Solution: Check the mounting bracket and ensure it's properly positioned
  • The distance between the Gasleser and the meter's magnetic sensor should be as small as possible
  • Make sure the bracket is not too far from the meter's magnetic sensor
  • If necessary, experiment with the position to find the optimal distance

3. Adjust the Mounting Bracket

The correct positioning of the mounting bracket is crucial:

  • Ensure the bracket is firmly seated and won't slip
  • The sensor must be positioned directly above the meter dial's magnet
  • Avoid too much distance between the sensor and the meter
  • Adjust the bracket position if needed
