gasleser.pulse Troubleshooting
For general issues, see Common Problems.
gasleser.pulse Not Counting After Installation
If your gasleser.pulse is not counting after installation, the problem is usually related to the physical installation. Here are the most common causes and solutions:
1. Verify Installation
Make sure the gasleser.pulse is correctly installed:
- The sensor must be positioned exactly above the metallic impulse disc of the gas meter
- The alignment must be precise so that every rotation of the disc is detected
- Check that the device is firmly and securely attached to the meter
A quick check: run a gas appliance and watch the LED. Every registered rotation produces a single blue pulse. If no pulse appears while gas is flowing, the alignment is wrong.
2. Sensor Too Far From the Impulse Disc
If the distance between sensor and impulse disc is too large, rotations are no longer detected reliably:
- Solution: Check that the metal plate sits flat against the meter interface
- Keep the distance between sensor and impulse disc as small as possible
- Remove any debris between plate and meter
3. Adjust the Mounting Position
The correct positioning is crucial:
- Ensure the metal plate is firmly seated and won't slip
- The sensor must be directly above the metallic impulse disc
- Adjust the position slightly and retest with the LED check above
Counter Reset After Power Loss
If the device lost power, the internal counter may have been reset.
- Re-enter the current gas meter reading in the app, see Meter Parameters
- Alternatively, use Recalibrate Total & Multiplier in the local web interface
Consumption Values Are Wrong
- Values too high or too low by a fixed factor: The pulse value is wrong. Check the label on your gas meter (usually
1 Imp = 0.01 m³) and correct it in the app. - Costs implausible: Check the tariff parameters, see Tariff Parameters.
- Reading drifts over time: Compare with the physical meter and re-enter the reading.
No WiFi Connection
- The LED blinks red slowly — check the WiFi credentials in the app
- Make sure the network is a 2.4 GHz network and reaches the gas meter location
- Move the router closer or use a repeater if the meter is in a basement
