Device Removal

If you want to remove your stromleser.one from the app – for example because you're selling it, moving it to another location, or no longer want to use it – you'll find out how to do it here.

When Should I Remove the Device?

  • 🏠 Moving to a new apartment/house
  • 💼 Selling the device
  • 🔄 Re-setup with different account
  • 🗑️ Device is no longer needed

Removing Device from App

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open App

    • Open the stromleser app
    • Go to device overview
  2. Select Device

    • Select the stromleser.one you want to remove
    • Tap on device to open detail view
  3. Open Settings

    • Tap on Settings icon ⚙️ (usually top right)
  4. Remove Device

    • Scroll down to "Device Management" section
    • Tap on "Remove Device" or "Delete Device"
  5. Confirmation

    • You'll be asked for confirmation
    • Read notes carefully
    • Confirm with "Yes, Remove Device"
Important

After removal, the device is no longer connected to your account. You'll need to set it up again to use it.

What Happens When Removing?

Device Is Deleted

  • ✅ Device disappears from your device list
  • ✅ Connection between device and account is removed
  • ✅ Device is ready for new setup

Your Data

  • Historical data remains stored in cloud
  • ✅ You can still view it in app
  • ✅ Export functions remain available
Good to Know

Your historical consumption data is NOT deleted even if you remove the device. It remains linked to your account.

Physically Removing Device

If you also want to remove the device from the electricity meter:

  1. Disconnect Power Supply

    • Unplug USB-C cable
    • Device is now without power
  2. Remove Device from Meter

    • Carefully pull reading head off meter
    • Magnetic attachment releases easily
  3. Remove Accessories

    • If you used metal disk, remove it
    • If Wi-Fi module was separately attached, remove it too

Preparing Device for New Setup

If you're passing the device to someone else or want to set it up elsewhere:

1. Remove Device from App

Follow above instructions

  • Perform a Factory Reset
  • This deletes Wi-Fi settings and local data
  • Device is then like new

3. Hand Over

  • Device can now be set up by new person
  • New person can connect device with their own account

Adding Device Again Later

You can add the device again at any time:

  1. In the App

  2. Device Is Recognized

    • If device was previously connected to your account
    • Historical data will be automatically linked again

Permanently Deleting Data

If you also want to delete your historical consumption data:

Warning

Deleting data is permanent and cannot be undone!

Request Data Deletion

  1. Contact support:

  2. Provide:

    • Your email address (account)
    • Which data should be deleted
    • Confirmation that you want deletion
  3. Data will be deleted within 30 days

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I remove a device and add it again later?

Yes, at any time! Historical data remains preserved and will be linked again when re-added.

What happens to my consumption data?

Data remains stored in cloud and is still visible in your app. It's not automatically deleted.

Can someone else use my device after removal?

Yes, after removal from your account, the device can be set up by another person with their account. We additionally recommend a Factory Reset.

Do I need to perform a factory reset?

It's not mandatory but recommended, especially if you're passing the device on. Factory reset deletes local settings like Wi-Fi credentials.

How do I completely delete my data?

Contact support at info@energieleser.de and request data deletion. This is a manual process for data protection reasons.
