Here you'll find solutions for the most common problems with your stromleser.one. Most problems can be solved quickly!

General Issues

Quick Help by LED Status​

The LED shows you what's happening. First look at the LED:

Setup Problems​

Device not found in app​

LED blinks blue but app doesn't find device

Solutions:

  1. Check Bluetooth

    • Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone
    • Go to system settings
    • Check if app has Bluetooth permissions
  2. Reduce Distance

    • Get closer to device (max. 5 meters)
    • Remove obstacles between smartphone and device
  3. Restart App

    • Close app completely
    • Open it again
    • Try search again
  4. Restart Device

    • Disconnect device from power
    • Wait 10 seconds
    • Connect again
    • LED should blink blue
  5. Restart Smartphone

    • Sometimes a smartphone restart helps
    • Bluetooth is reinitialized in the process

Wi-Fi Problems​

This is the most common problem

Solutions:

  1. Check 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi

    • The stromleser.one supports ONLY 2.4 GHz
    • 5 GHz does NOT work
    • Check router settings
    • If only 5 GHz is active, enable 2.4 GHz
  2. Check Wi-Fi Password

    • Pay attention to upper/lowercase
    • Enter special characters correctly
    • No spaces at beginning/end
  3. Check Wi-Fi Signal

    • Is router too far away?
    • Are there thick walls in between?
    • Use a Wi-Fi repeater if necessary
  4. Check Router Settings

    • MAC Filter: If active, add stromleser.one
    • AP Isolation: If active, deactivate
    • Guest Network: Don't use (usually isolated)
  5. Perform Factory Reset

Wi-Fi connection keeps dropping​

Device loses Wi-Fi connection

Solutions:

  1. Router Position

    • Place router closer to meter
    • Or use a Wi-Fi repeater
  2. Change Router Channel

    • Change 2.4 GHz channel in router
    • Test different channels (1, 6, 11)
    • Avoid crowded channels
  3. Router Firmware Update

    • Check if router update is available
    • Can fix stability problems

No Data in App​

Device seems to be working but you see no data

Solutions:

  1. Wait

    • It can take up to 30 seconds
    • Pull app down to refresh
  2. Check Reading Head Position

    • Is it correctly positioned on optical interface?
    • Is logo facing forward?
    • Is optical interface clean?
  3. Check Meter Compatibility

  4. Meter Needs Activation

    • For some meters, optical interface must be activated
    • Contact your grid operator
    • Provide your meter number
  5. Check Internet Connection

    • Is your smartphone connected to internet?
    • Check connection
  6. Restart App

    • Close app completely
    • Open it again

Old data displayed but no new data​

Last data is from yesterday or older

Solutions:

  1. Check Wi-Fi Connection

    • Check if device is still connected to Wi-Fi
    • LED should blink green
  2. Restart Device

    • Disconnect device from power
    • Wait 10 seconds
    • Connect again
  3. Restart Router

    • Sometimes router restart helps
    • Turn router off and on again

Power Supply Problems​

LED doesn't light up​

Device shows no signs of life

Solutions:

  1. Check Cable

    • Is USB-C cable properly plugged in?
    • On device and in outlet?
  2. Check Outlet

    • Is outlet working?
    • Test with another device
    • If DIN rail outlet: Is it switched on?
  3. Check Power Adapter

    • Is power adapter working?
    • Test it with another device
    • LED on power adapter (if available)?
  4. Test Different Cable

    • If possible, test with another USB-C cable
    • Some cables are only for charging, not for data

PV-Specific Problems​

Feed-in not displayed​

You have a PV system but feed-in is not displayed

Solutions:

  1. Check Meter Type

    • Do you have a bidirectional meter?
    • Only these can measure feed-in
    • Does meter say "Consumption/Delivery" or similar?
  2. Check Configuration

  3. Meter Activation

    • Feed-in must be activated by grid operator
    • Contact your grid operator
  4. Currently No Feed-in

    • Is your PV system currently producing electricity?
    • At night or in bad weather there's no feed-in

App Problems​

App crashes or doesn't respond​

App isn't working properly

Solutions:

  1. Update App

    • Go to App Store / Google Play
    • Check if update is available
    • Install latest update
  2. Clear App Cache (Android)

    • Settings β†’ Apps β†’ stromleser
    • Storage β†’ Clear Cache
  3. Reinstall App

    • Uninstall app
    • Reinstall
    • Log in with your account
    • Data remains saved (in cloud)

Push notifications don't work​

You don't receive notifications

Solutions:

  1. Enable Notifications

    • Smartphone Settings β†’ Apps β†’ stromleser
    • Enable notifications
  2. Check Do Not Disturb Mode

    • Is Do Not Disturb mode active?
    • Deactivate it or allow notifications
  3. Battery Saver Mode

    • Some apps in battery saver mode have notifications blocked
    • Allow background activity for stromleser app

  • Device name in app
  • Firmware version (in app settings)
  • Installation date

Meter Information​

  • Meter manufacturer and model
  • Meter number
  • Meter location (basement, utility room, etc.)

Problem Description​
