Frequently Asked Questions
Which meters can the energieleser.bridge read?
All radio-based meters that send their readings via wM-Bus (OMS) — electricity, gas, water and heat — as well as wireless smoke detectors and the energieleser.node. With the energieleser.node you can also connect meters without radio. See Compatible Meters.
Why is my meter not delivering data?
The Bridge only reads registered meters. Check that the meter is registered with the correct meter number, that the right AES key is stored for encrypted meters, and that the Bridge is within radio range. See Troubleshooting.
Do I need an AES key?
Only if your meter encrypts its radio signals. You usually get the AES key from your utility, landlord or property management, less often from your metering operator or the manufacturer. See Adding radio meters.
Does the Bridge work with Home Assistant?
Yes. The Bridge creates your meters in Home Assistant automatically as sensors. See Adding radio meters.
Can I use the Bridge on a 5 GHz WiFi network?
No, the Bridge only supports the 2.4 GHz band. See Pairing the Bridge.
How do I reset the Bridge?
Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds. See Factory Reset.
How do I update the software?
You trigger the update yourself and the Bridge downloads it over the internet – you don't need to connect anything. See Software Updates.
