Receiver module required

The Node needs a receiver module: the energieleser.bridge or an external receiver module.

The energieleser.node only works together with a receiver module, usually the energieleser.bridge. It does not connect to your home WiFi directly, but sends its readings to the Bridge over its own low-power radio connection, and the Bridge forwards them to the Energieleser app over WiFi. To make sure the setup goes smoothly, have the following ready.

For the Node

• Bridge: If you use the energieleser.bridge, it is already set up in the Energieleser app. You can find out how under Setting up the app for the energieleser.bridge.
• Power supply: The Node is powered, see Power Supply.
• Sensors: Your sensors are attached to the meter and connected to the Node, see Connecting Sensors to the Node.

For the app setup

• energieleser app: Download the energieleser app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android) and create an account.
• Range: Stay close to the Node during pairing. The Bridge is switched on and online.
• Meter reading: When assigning a port, have the current reading of your meter ready.
• PIN: If you want to add an electricity meter via the stromleser.ttl and retrieve real-time data, have the PIN of your electricity meter ready, see stromleser.ttl.
